Had an amazing weekend at Chester Pride 2017 and took the GH5 out for a spin!
Special thanks to Martin Clowes for having myself and my students from Glyndwr University come down to Media City in Manchester and practice their Photography skills at PugFest 2017. Here's a little video I made of the day!
This year Wales Comic-Con were very generous in giving my students press-passes to the event. We decided to do something a little different and took Ruby (the 5 year old daughter of one of the students) to do some coverage of the day! It was a fantastic weekend and Ruby was a massive crowd pleaser, everyone loved her and her interviewing techniques!
I must open by saying the above video is not my own work. I was only involved with the filming of the school children singing about half way through. It's a fantastic project and the kids really appreciated being part of it.
Today I was asked by the Big Lottery Fund if I could come along and record them presenting Brymbo Heritage Group with a cheque for just under £2 million. It was a great morning and after we were given a tour of the sites and told where the money would be going. Everyone was incredibly passionate about the project and I'm really excited to see how it develops over the coming years.
Today saw the launch of the new waiting room video at Ty Derbyn in Wrexham. Over the last few months I'd worked with Glyndwr University students and several local Mental Health Organisations to put this together. You can read more about the project here.
So the first half of 2017 I'm going to be taking on the role of Creative Practitioner at two local schools. The plan is to spend 12 weeks with them, teaching them animation, chroma key, video editing, audio mixing, storyboarding and camera work. We'll then get them to use these new skills to create their own film about Wrexham's history to be screened at the Odeon in Eagles Meadow.
I've had a surprising and amazing start to 2017 with being offered a Sessional Lecturer role at Glyndwr University. So for the coming months I'll be taking this on as well as a Creative Practitioner role in two local schools.
As 2016 comes to an end, I want to thank everyone I worked with and all the new friends I made for such a fantastic and memorable year!
A lovely write up by the Oswestry Advertizer here from the launch night. It was a great event with so much positivity and kind words. It was great to see so many people come together to celebrate the town's rich heritage.
This week we're filming the Oswestry Heritage Bake-Off! This film will intercut a Bake-Off style competition with information about local heritage. The final film will be screened at Kinokulture Cinema in Oswestry near the end of November. More updates as they come.
Kicking off the Weddings this year with a beautiful full day shoot at Portmeirion!
